The Walk of the Spiritually Blind
"For this people's heart has grown dull, and with their ears they can barely hear, and their eyes they have closed..." — Matthew 13:15
For forty years, I walked blind.
Different countries. Different businesses. Different jobs. Different relationships. Different cities, different strategies, different attempts at starting over. It didn't matter. The same patterns followed me everywhere.
I thought I was the problem.
I wasn't. I was blind to the blueprint controlling every step I took.
The Moment My Eyes Began to Open
After years of many different attempts, I was 44 years old when I picked up a book called The Ropeworm Protocol Bible by Laura Roher Little Brooks. It isn't a religious book—but it included truth that I had ignored. And that led me to another of the author's books called The Ascension Diet. I honestly thought it was a book about the things we can eat to be healthy and to have a spiritual ascension, and that interested me because I was still influenced at the time by New Age beliefs. But the book was about deeper things and God's truths. It showed different perspectives on the things that are happening in the world, and within the book, the author used biblical truths and talked about Jesus Christ. Something in those pages stirred something I'd ignored my entire life. Something I didn't even know I was hungry for—the Word of God and the truth.
So I decided to buy a Holy Bible and start reading these principles myself. I started searching for more information and understanding. I needed to understand the root of the life I was living but couldn't explain. That search led me to a woman named Jess Law, who had uploaded just a few videos back in 2020. When I heard her say that Scripture is our spiritual law—that it actually works like law in the unseen realm—my mind exploded. For the first time, I understood: life isn't just unfair and painful for no reason. There are principles governing all of us, whether we know them or not. Whether we follow them or not.
So I made an assignment to myself: to read the Scriptures. I read the Bible almost every day from beginning to end for the first time in my life. Sometimes I spent up to five, six, or even more hours reading it in a day. It took me a year to finish it all.
During those days, I also kept searching for testimonies—real stories of transformation. That's when I found James Kawalya, an ex-warlock who became a servant of God through an encounter with Jesus Christ. His testimony shook me. I had to know: why did Jesus have that much power?
That question led me to the real truth of the cross.
Not the Sunday school story. Not the religious ritual. The actual power of what happened there.
Jesus didn't just die. He walked out every principle of God, step by step, and defeated the dark forces controlling humanity. The cross wasn't history—it was, and is, living power. When we speak His name, there is authority in the spiritual realm. And He did all of this for us—despite our wickedness, our faults, our transgressions.
That truth changed everything.
For forty years, I had tried to change my life in my own strength. I failed over and over. But now, with the strength He gave me, change became possible.
For forty years, I had been walking blind. But slowly, truth by truth, my eyes began to open.
We Don't Choose Blindness—We Inherit It, and We Are Driven to It Culturally
Here's what took me four decades to understand: we don't choose the patterns that control us. We inherit them, or are forced to believe in patterns that are based on lies.
We're born into families, cultures, and systems that hand us blueprints—ways of thinking, believing, and behaving—without ever explaining what they are or where they came from. We simply accept them as truth because that's all we've ever known.
Your blueprint might have told you:
"Keep the peace at all costs, even if it means losing yourself"
"You have to earn love through performance"
"Your worth is measured by what you accomplish"
"You have nothing worth saying"
You didn't sit down one day and choose these beliefs. They were simply there, operating in the background, guiding your steps without your permission.
And because they seemed normal, you couldn't see them. You couldn't question them.
That's how the blind walk—following paths they never chose, wondering why they keep hitting the same walls.
My Forty-Year Walk
For decades, I walked blind through:
Relationships where I was manipulated and rejected
Patterns of scarcity—never enough
Financial struggles I couldn't escape
Cycles of brokenness I couldn't explain
Mental oppression that felt like prison walls
I thought it was just "how life was." I thought I was the problem—too broken, too difficult, too much or not enough.
What I didn't see was the blueprint and the forces acting behind these situations.
I was following invisible instructions handed down from childhood trauma, wrong choices, and pain. Instructions that whispered:
Accept rejection as normal. Stay small to stay safe. Don't trust your own voice. You have nothing worth saying.
And because I couldn't see these patterns, I couldn't change them.
You can't change what you can't see.
When Everything Shifted: Understanding the Real Battle
This is where most people stop. They recognize the patterns. They see the pain. But they don't understand why the patterns have so much power or how to actually break them.
That's because the battle isn't just psychological—it's spiritual.
For forty years, I tried to change my patterns through willpower, therapy, positive thinking, and self-help strategies. Some helped temporarily. A few of them lasted. I'd make progress, then fall right back into the same cycles.
Here's what I finally understood: the blueprints controlling our lives aren't just mental habits. They're spiritual strongholds.
The Bible calls them "principalities and powers" (Ephesians 6:12). These aren't just ideas—they're spiritual forces that gain legal access to our lives through the broken blueprints we inherit and accept as truth.
When I realized this, everything made sense:
Why I kept attracting the same type of destructive relationships
Why financial breakthrough always seemed just out of reach
Why I could know better but still do the same harmful things
Why my own strength was never enough to create lasting change
I wasn't just dealing with bad habits. I was operating under spiritual laws I didn't understand.
The Blueprint Principles God Showed Me
God began showing me the blueprint principles that actually govern our lives—principles that work whether we believe in them or not, just like gravity.
Principle #1: Authority comes from alignment. Jesus had power because He perfectly aligned with God's blueprints. When we align with God's principles, we operate in His authority. When we align with broken blueprints (even unknowingly), we give authority to the forces behind those patterns.
Principle #2: The cross broke the legal claim. This was the breakthrough. Every broken blueprint we inherit—rejection, shame, poverty, fear—had a legal claim on humanity through iniquities. But Jesus fulfilled every principle perfectly, then took our iniquities and brokenness to the cross. He broke the legal right those patterns had over us. But we have to claim them because we have free will.
Principle #3: We must enforce what Christ accomplished. This is what most people miss. The victory is already won, but we have to enforce it in our own lives. That's why speaking His name has power—we're invoking the authority of what He already accomplished.
How I Applied This to My Life
Once I understood these principles, everything changed. Instead of fighting patterns in my own strength, I learned to:
Identify the blueprint - Name the pattern clearly (rejection, scarcity, fear, etc.)
Trace its origin - Ask God to show me where this blueprint entered my life (family, trauma, agreement with lies)
Break the agreement - Renounce the lie and break agreement with the pattern through prayer, speaking it out loud in Jesus' name
Replace it with God's blueprint - Find the scripture that speaks God's truth about that area and declare it over my life
Walk it out - Make different choices aligned with the new blueprint, even when it felt uncomfortable
What This Means for You
If you're reading this and something in you is stirring—if you're recognizing that you've been walking blind, following blueprints you never chose—this is for you.
You don't have to spend forty years in the desert like I did.
Your eyes can open. Today. Right now.
It starts with:
Coming to God with open hands instead of clenched fists. Ask Him to show you what you can't see on your own.
Being willing to look at what He reveals. This part is uncomfortable. You'll see patterns you've accepted as "just who you are." Look anyway.
Understanding the spiritual reality behind the struggle. This isn't just self-improvement. This is spiritual warfare—and you need spiritual weapons that are in Scripture.
Learning to enforce what Christ already accomplished. The victory is won. You just need to learn how to walk in it.
What's Coming This Month
Over the next four weeks, I'll share:
From New Age to Faith in Jesus Christ - My journey from spiritual seeking to finding the Truth that transformed everything
The Infinite Search for Filling the Void - What drives our endless searching and why nothing satisfies until we find what we were made for
The Blueprint of Fear - The most destructive pattern I carried and how it kept me trapped for decades
The Blueprint of Rejection - How I accepted rejection as normal and the moment that pattern finally broke
But it all starts here, with one simple truth:
You can't change what you can't see.
So let's start seeing.
Your Next Step
Take some time this week to ask yourself:
What pattern keeps repeating in my life?
What blueprint might I have inherited without choosing it?
What would my life look like if that pattern broke?
Write down what comes to mind. Don't judge it. Just observe it.
That's where transformation begins—in the seeing.
Until next week,
Berenice
